Robert (Bobby) Leon Jordan was born on October 4, 1937, to Perry Jordan and Hazel (Tapp) Jordan in Hominy, OK. He passed away on January 10, 2023, in Bartlesville, OK, at age 85. He was a graduate of Dewey High School and worked as a maintenance worker and carpenter. He retired from Reda/Shlumberger and later worked for the City of Dewey and was a self-employed contractor for Jordan Construction. He married Terry Jordan and they were married almost forty years.
He was an accomplished carpenter, designing numerous floor plans and building the same houses he designed. He organized and coached the "Dewey Flyers" girls' softball team. Because of his guidance, the girls won numerous trophies! He served 12 years in the US Army, stationed in Germany. While in the service, he visited numerous countries. He also served on the Dewey City Council for several years. Robert Jordan was an avid OU Fan. He and his son went to all their home football games for more than 50 years. He loved going to sprint car races in Iowa for many years with his son and friends. He loved attending his grandson's sporting events. He loved fishing at his lake house on Grand Lake.
Robert Jordan was preceded in death by his father Perry Jordan, his mother Hazel Jordan, his brothers Calvin Don, and Aiden Jordan and wife Norma, his sisters Annabelle Hunts and husband Eddie, Francis Mayfield and husband Audie, Leona Lee and husband Marlin, and Wanda Smith and husband Fred, and his daughter Becky Coronado.
He is survived by his wife Terry Jordan, his son Michael Jordan, his daughters Teresa Moland and husband Lawrence (Mo), and Melyn Nichols and husband David, his sisters Louise Miller and husband Jimmy, and Betty Schofield and husband Joe, his grandchildren Brittany Jordan and Christopher Williams, and numerous nieces and nephews.
There will be an informal graveside at the Dewey Cemetery on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at 2:00pm.
Family suggests wearing casual OU shirts or red and white shirts in honor of Bobby.
