It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert Stanilaus Kmitta Hill III, “Jr”, who left us unexpectedly on February 10, 2025, due to natural causes.
He was born on February 22, 1991, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Susan and Robert Hill. In 1998, he moved to Montana with his family, where he grew up and went to school in Corvallis, Montana. On their small property, he enjoyed playing outside with his sisters, climbing trees, riding bikes, and building mini-cities and forts. He was also an avid gamer, playing Zelda, Halo, and Guitar Hero. His passion for games expanded into his adult life, bringing him close friends who shared his interests in D&D and computers.
Upon graduating high school in 2009, he moved to Seattle, Washington, to study at DeVry University before moving back to Montana, where he settled in Missoula and worked at Opportunity Resources. Jr was a beloved son, brother, and friend with a big, caring heart and unwavering support. His kindness and generosity were unmatched. His infectious laugh and warm heart will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
He joins his Mother, Susan Rae Hill and Grandma, Lois Marie O’Brien. He is survived by his father, Robert SK Hill Jr.; brother, Jayson Hill, and sister-in-law, Trisha Hill; sisters, Jenni Dorsey-Spitz and Jaclyn Diaz; brothers-in-law, Brendan Dorsey-Spitz and Severo Diaz; and four nephews: Justyn Hill, Syler Hill, Orion Hill, and MacKinnon Dorsey-Spitz.
In lieu of a traditional funeral, we will be holding a celebration of life to honor Jr's memory. This event will take place on August 16, 2025 at Higherground Brewing Co., Hamilton, MT. We invite all who knew and loved Jr to join us anytime from 1:00-3:00pm to share stories, memories, and celebrate the wonderful life he lived.
Please join us in celebrating the life of Robert “Jr” Stanilaus Kmitta Hill III and the joy he brought to all who knew him.
