Robert P. Karall

Robert Paul Karall, age 69, a dedicated father, proud member of the International Union of Elevator Constructors, and longtime mechanic in charge for several companies-most recently KONE-passed away on November 21, 2025, following a brief illness.
Bob took tremendous pride in his decades-long career in the elevator industry, especially his years serving as the mechanic-in-charge at Wrigley Field. He loved his trade, his union brothers and sisters, and the many friendships he built throughout his career.
He was the loving father of Julianna (Bill) Meidell, and the doting grandfather of Lily C. and Emma M. He is also lovingly remembered by Katherine Becker, mother of his daughter Julianna, and by Theresa Price, his devoted longtime companion. Bob was the cherished brother of John David (Laurie), Frank T., Leo M., and Steve T. (Kim); and the beloved uncle of Leo M., Steven, and Seth R., and the late Jasper.
Bob was not only a gifted engineer but someone who would eagerly lend a hand to anyone who needed help with a project-no matter how big or small. A lifelong Chicagoan, Bob was an avid sportsman who enjoyed golfing, fishing, shooting, cycling, and skiing, and he had a deep love for Chicago sports-especially the Blackhawks, Bears, and Cubs.
Memorial Visitation for Bob will be held on Tuesday, December 2nd from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Casey & Rios Funeral Home, 4540 West Diversey Ave., Chicago, IL 60639. Family and friends are encouraged to wear jerseys from Bob's favorite teams-the Chicago Blackhawks, Bears, and Cubs-to honor his love of Chicago sports.
