Robert Stephen Kenney passed away on Wednesday, December 10, 2025 surrounded by his family. He was married to Claudia (Muecke), the love of his life, for 56 years. He was the proud father of Daniel (Kathleen) and Michelle Meehan (Darren) and proud Opa to Kylie and Danny Kenney and Isabella and Abigail Meehan. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Helen Kenney, and his brother John (Susan). He is survived by his sister, Helen Gash and many nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws.
Bob was born in Philadelphia and relocated in his youth to
Warrington, PA where he developed many lifelong friendships at St. Joseph's Catholic School. Bob served his country in the United States Army, where he proudly retired after 23 years with the rank of Warrant Officer 3. Upon retiring from the Army, Bob partnered with his brother, John and opened Kenney's Madison Tavern in Warminster in 1991, where he met countless people who would become like family. Bob would go on to continue enjoying serving guests at the Madison with his son, Dan, with whom he and Claudia partnered with for several years.
Bob was an avid fan of all Philadelphia sports teams and took special pride in cheering on Army during the Army Navy Game each year, and any other event that enabled him to warm his sprits and those of the friends and family surrounding him. His greatest role in life was as an Opa, where he had the chance to spoil his grandkids and shower them with love or share ice cream or other treats with them.
Bob's family will receive friends on Monday, December 15, 2025 from 10:00AM until a sharing of remembrances at 12 Noon in the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Road (at Holland Rd.)
