Robert Kerber Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Wolfe Funeral Home - Fort Mill from Jan. 4 to Jan. 10, 2025.
Robert Kimbrell Kerber, 34, of Fort Mill, SC, passed away on December 30, 2024, finally free from the struggle that waged war on his gentle soul. Though his time here was far too short, his impact on the hearts of those who knew him will last forever.
Born on March 20, 1990, Robert was an old soul with a youthful heart. His soft heart and gentle spirit drew children, animals, and anyone in need of a smile into his orbit. He was a protector of the vulnerable, a champion for the underdog, a devoted lover of animals, and fiercely loyal to those he loved-always ready to share a joke or story.
Robert is survived by his son, Karter; parents, Cathey and Ken Kerber, who never stopped loving him fiercely; his sister, Mary Pat Kerber and his brother, James Kerber; nieces, Ari, Ryn, Milly and Alex Rae; nephew, Jett; grandmother, Patsy Kimbrell; uncle, Robert Kimbrell; and cousins Tiffany Kimbrell-Thomason, Blake Kimbrell, Letha Kimbrell and Tyler Kimbrell. They will miss his warm hugs, brilliant laugh, and how he could turn even the most mundane moment into something memorable.
Although addiction cast its shadow, it could never dim the light that was Robert. He had a heart big enough to hold the world, even if it sometimes felt too heavy for him to carry. He loved deeply, laughed often, and lived one beautiful moment at a time as best he could.
A visitation will be held January 11, 2025 at Doby's Bridge Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall from 1:00 to 2:30 PM where laughter, tears, and memories will flow as freely as the love he shared with us all. The world is a little dimmer without you, but the heavens gained a beautiful soul who knows how to make the angels laugh. Fly free, sweet Rob.

Robert Kerber was my dad, I have been kept away from him for pretty much my whole life and I never knew him, but I always love him. And his suffering has ended because he is in a higher place in heaven with God.
