Robert J. Kingsbury, age 97, passed away on Sunday, September 7, 2025 at his home in Lemont, IL. Robert was born and raised in Michigan, where he held many different jobs in is youth-from working as an oiler on Lake Michigan steam ferry to fishing on Lake Superior. He later proudly served his country in the Untiled States Air Force as a meteorologist, a role that reflected both his discipline and dedication. Following his service Robert built a successful career as a skilled Tool & Die Maker, known for his steady hand and precision. In his free time, he loved spending hours in "Bob's Barn" , his wood shop, where he took pride in his craftsmanship and the satisfaction of working with his hands. Robert was the devoted husband of 75 years to his beloved wife, Joan Kingsbury (nee Rust).Together, they shared a lifetime filled with love, laughter and family. He was the proud father of Stephen (Karen) Kingsbury, Pamela (Greg) Carter and Julie (Tim) Tomazin; his cherished grandchildren James (Michelle) Kingsbury, Stephanie (Scott) Williams, Christina Kingsbury, Gregory (Heather) Carter and Daniel Tomazin; his treasured great-grandchildren Izzy, Makenna, Gavin, Landon, Gregory III and Liam; his dear great-great-grandson Greyson and his fond sister Jane. He is preceded in death by his loving parents Joseph and Ruth (nee Clemenshaw) Kingsbury; his adored granddaughter Sarah Carter and siblings John "Jack" (Beverly) and Barbara. Memorial service to be held at a later date. Cremation rites have been accorded.
