In Loving Memory

Robert Ralph Kirkham

Mr. Robert Ralph Kirkham age 84, of Republic, WA, passed away August 26, 2025 at his home in Republic, WA. Robert was born January 22, 1941. When he was a young boy he lived with his grandmother in Ferndale, WA. It was during this time that he met a pretty 10-year-old girl named Mary Lou Horat on the school bus. Little did he know that nearly 10 years later the two would marry on June 18, 1960.

The couple would welcome their first child Dianna a year later and move to Port Angelas. Not long after, the family would move back to the Ferndale area and be there for 15 years. While there, Jerry and Carolyn would join the family. Robert and Mary Lou spent countless hours playing and working alongside the children. Robert would ride motorcycles with them and taught them how to jump. They went to many movies. There were trips to Disneyland and a ferry ride to Alaska. Robert worked for Dawson Construction in Anchorage and Ketchikan. There was puddle jump flights to different islands and locations in Alaska.

In 1975, the family moved across the State of Washington to Republic. Robert continued to work on the westside and commuted back and forth. He enjoyed fly fishing and going to Yellowstone National Park to do so. Robert was an award-winning Trap Shooter. He attended many gun shows, went on hunting trips, and competed in various competitions. The children remember the fun they had in the winter when Robert would take an old car hood and make it into a toboggan and pull them on it through the snow.

Robert is preceded in death by his grandmother, his mother Victoria Bacon, his father Ralph Kirkham, and half-sister, Penny Bacon. He is survived by his wife of 65 years Mary Lou at their Republic home; daughter Dianna, son Jerry, and daughter Carolyn; three grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. No services are planned at this time. Danekas Funeral Chapel & Crematory have been entrusted with his care.
