Robert Earl Knighton

1944 - 2024

Robert Earl Knighton, Robert Earl Knighton 79, of Hurricane, WV returned to his Heavenly Home on October 2, 2024 surrounded by his family. He was preceded in death by his parents: Earl and Sylvia Knighton; sister: Sue Neal; mother and father in-law: Lloyd and Geneva Wilkerson; and many other close friends and family who have gone ahead and welcomed him there.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of almost 59 years: Beverly Ann Knighton; sons: Bobby Knighton of Malden, WV and Chris Knighton (Rachel) of Hickory, NC; daughter: Bethany Chapman (Isaiah) of Scott Depot, WV; son in-law: David Ferris of Culloden, WV; brother: Clifford Knighton (Phyllis) of Norman, OK; brother in-law: Richard Neal of Cross Lanes, WV; sisters in law: Barbara Boardwine (Sam) of Beckwith, WV and Jenny Hamm of Montgomery, WV; grandchildren: Miracle Knighton, Corey Knighton, Benjamin Knighton, Casey Knighton, Matthew Ferris, Emilee Knighton, and Sammy Ferris; as well as his great-grandchildren: Amira, Annie, and Astella.

Bob graduated from Dunbar High School in 1962. He is a Vietnam Veteran who served with honor in the United States Air Force until 1966, then he retired from the USPS after 41 years of employment as an Express/Priority mail expeditor and participated in many sports leagues for softball and bowling over the years. Bob was a member of WV Home Mission Church of Nitro, WV and served the Lord well during his time here on Earth.

Funeral Service for Bob will be 1:00pm Friday October 11, 2024 at Chapman Funeral Home Hurricane, WV with Pastor Joe Scarberry officiating. Burial will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens.
