Robert W. Koontz Sr., 86, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away December 22, 2025. He was born August 15, 1939, in Hopewell, PA, the son of Albert W. and Letha F. (Mills) Koontz. Robert retired after working on the Wastewater Treatment Plant for the Borough of Chambersburg. He loved dogs and was an avid sportsman, enjoying hunting and fishing.

Robert is survived by his wife, Shirley (Uglow) Koontz, children Robert W. Koontz Jr (Jill) and Roben Englehart (John), stepchildren Jerri Harrison (Charles Powell) and Pete Harrison (Detsie), sister Carol Evans (Ronny), as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at 10:00 AM, at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, Ltd., Chambersburg, with Pastor Jacob Harrison officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:30 AM until 10:00 AM, before the service. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Robert's name may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. https://www.stjude.org/
