OTTOVILLE – Robert Kortokrax, 84, of Ottoville, passed from this earth to be with the Lord at 8:43 a.m. on Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at The Meadows of Delphos. He was born April 27, 1938 in Delphos to the late Kenneth and Edna (Utrup) Kortokrax. On May 7, 1960, he married Arlene (Ricker) Kortokrax, who survives in Ottoville.
Other survivors include six children: Christopher J. (Sandy Culp) Kortokrax of Delphos, Terry C. (Sheila Gossard) Kortokrax, David J. (Michelle Calvelage) Kortokrax, Robin M. (Mark) Turnwald, all of Ottoville, Todd T. (Jennifer Scott) Kortokrax of Haviland, and Gregory D. Kortokrax (Julie Edwards) of Kalida; 16 grandchildren: Ryan (Shelby Davies-Jones) Kortokrax, Drew Kortokrax, Alaina (Nolan Fox) Kortokrax, Logan (Colleen) Kortokrax, Carly (Kyle) Bendele, Grant Kortokrax, Brooke (Brandon Cox) Kortokrax, Trent Kortokrax, Blake Kortokrax, Tyler L. Turnwald, Matthew (Madalyn) Turnwald, Evan Turnwald, Brittany (Cody) Motycka, Ryan (Kaitlyn) Kortokrax, and Dannielle (Dave Williamson) Kortokrax; 6 great-grandchildren, and 2 on the way; a sister: Jan (Tim) Michel; a brother: Carl Kortokrax; and a very special friend and helper, Connie.
He is preceded in death by a sister, Nioma Stephen; and three brothers, Tom Kortokrax, Walter Kortokrax, and Jimmy Kortokrax; a sister-in-law, Carol Kortokrax; and a brother-in-law, John (Jane) Ricker.
Robert was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville. He served 2 years in the U.S. Navy. Robert was a toolmaker at Lima Ford Engine Plant, where he worked for 38 years. After his retirement he enjoyed his years of volunteering at Highland Hammocks State Park with his wife Arlene for 10 years. Robert enjoyed playing golf, fishing, and hunting. He was an excellent wine maker. Robert especially enjoyed helping his kids build and work on their homes.
Robert's family would like to thank Father George Mahas, the wonderful staff at the Meadows of Delphos, the doctors and nurses at Lima Memorial Health Systems, the staff at Lima Memorial Home Health, visiting nurse, Christine, and anyone else who may have been missed, God Bless you all.
Funeral Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville with Fr. George Mahas officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Ottoville with military rites by the Ottoville VFW and Ft. Jennings American Legion. Visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. on Friday at Love-Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Jackson Township.
Memorial donations may be given to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Maintenance Fund or Lima Junior Golf Association. Condolences may be expressed at www.lovefuneralhome.com.
