Robert J. Korybski

Korybski, Robert J. "Bob," age 87, of Hawthorne, died on Tuesday, January 20, 2026.

Born and raised in Paterson, Bob had moved to Sussex County before moving back to Paterson and then he became a Hawthorne resident for over 30 years. A former employee at Bendix Corp., Bob went on to start his own auto mechanic shop in Paterson known as Bob's Repair. In his spare time, Bob looked forward to Sunday drives with Ruth in his Volvo. He also owned an antique Chrysler having been an antique car enthusiast. Bob also enjoyed frequent camping trips with his family to Swartswood Lake.

Bob was the beloved husband of Ruth (nee Scibetta) Adams. Loving father of Robin Korybski and her husband Bill Trost of Aloha, Oregon, Edward Korybski and his wife Caroline of Honolulu, HI, and Tom Korybski and his wife Dorothy of Newton. Stepfather of Linda Guella and her husband John of Ramsey and Karen Smith and her husband Lawrence of PA. Dear grandfather of Anthony, Samantha, Devin, Malia, Tessa, and JJ.

Funeral service will be held at 3:00pm on Saturday, January 31, 2026 at the Browning-Forshay Funeral Home, 557 Lafayette Avenue, Hawthorne. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Saturday, prior to the service from 2:00 to 3:00pm. Cremation has been private.

In lieu of memorial donations may be made to the Hawthorne Bear Cave.
