Robert Krause was born on January 14, 1937 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and died on March 4, 2026. He is preceded in death by Carol, his wife of 65 years, his parents, Anna and Adolph Krause, all three sisters, Marie, Dolly and Kathleen, and by his son, Kurt. Bob is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Kip and Kathy Robinson, his son Kent, and three beloved grandchildren, John (Kara), William and Anne Robinson. Bob’s many nieces and nephews have always been very dear to him.
After serving in the Air National Guard, which sent Bob to Denver, he had a successful career at Lockheed/Martin as a test engineer. He took pride in a very interesting profession and the technology he helped advance. Bob enjoyed travel and made it to the 48 contiguous states plus Hawaii, a life goal. In the 80’s he was a very emphatic and vocal fan of Lutheran High School girls basketball, where Kathy played forward. He rarely missed a game, ever ready to cheer her on. Being Opa to his three grandchildren brought him much joy. He was very proud of his son, Kent, who proudly served in the US Navy.
His great heartbreak was the untimely death of his son, Kurt, killed by a drunk driver.
His Christian faith was important to him and he was a longtime member of St John’s Lutheran Church, in Denver. He enjoyed the community of friends there and in his last years he was especially encouraged by the care and friendship of Warren Kaelberer. Thank you, Warren. Dad spent many of his final years with chronic back pain, disappointed he was not able to be as active as he’d liked.
A graveside service is planned on Wednesday, March 11 at 1pm at Olinger Chapel Hill Cemetery, 6601 S Colorado Blvd, Centennial, CO 80121.
Memorials may be sent to St Johns Lutheran Church, 700 S Franklin St, Denver, CO 80209.
