Wintz Funeral Home - HartingtonRobert J. Kuchta, age 95 of Hartington, Nebraska died on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at Park View Haven Nursing Home in Coleridge, Nebraska.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Hartington with the Rev. Will Targy officiating. Burial will be at St. Michael’s cemetery in Hartington with military rites by the Hartington VFW. Visitation will be on Wednesday morning from 9-10:00 a.m., at church, and a rosary will be recited at 10:00 a.m. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home in Hartington.
Pallbearers will be-Christy Anderson, Tom Kuchta, Travis Kuchta, Aaron Kuchta, Tyler Kuchta, Kaylynn Sayler, Carter Abels, Nathan Kuchta, Melisa Abels and Megan Kuchta. Honorary Pallbearers will be Robert's Grandchildren.
Robert Joseph was born May 9, 1930, on a farm near Menominee to George and Caroline (Haberer) Kuchta. He grew up in the Menominee area and attended Elementary School there and later went to Tip Top School in Hartington, NE. Robert served in the US. Army during the Korean War. Upon returning he married Lucille P. Fischer on November 14, 1956 at St, Michaels Church in Coleridge, NE. Bob farmed and had a dairy operation many years before working at Neu Cheese Company for 44 years.
Bob was a faithful member of Holy Trinity Church and The Holy Adoration Hour. Family, faith, and friends were the center of Bob's life. Bob loved gardening and helping anyone out in need, but his favorite pastime was joking with people and making them laugh.
He is survived by his 6 children-Gary (Betty) Kuchta Hartington, Carol Kuchta Wynot, Judy (Clayton) Studebaker Yankton SD, Alan (Karen) Kuchta Wynot, Joe Kuchta Wynot, Kenny (Rhonda) Kuchta Hartington; 22 Grandchildren; 49 Great Grandchildren and Sister-In-Law Shirley Kuchta.
Preceding Bob in death was his wife Lucille of 50 years; granddaughter Rena; his parents; brothers Jerome, Lawrence, and Clarence; and sisters Inez and Irene.
