Robert Kush Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Beckman-Williamson Funeral Homes & Crematory - Viera on Nov. 14, 2025.
Sadly, Bob passed away on October 19th at the age of 72. Bob learned in August that he had pancreatic cancer and after many stays in the hospital, with no positive resolution in sight, he opted to spend the rest of his days at home. He passed away peacefully at home, just 12 hours after his new grandson was born.

Bob was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother. He loved his family above all else and would do anything for them. Bob always put his kids first and was an amazing father, coach and provider.

He leaves behind his wife of 42 years, Lynn, children Amanda, Alex (Rachel), Kelly (Nathan), grandchildren Palmer and Hudson and two brothers, Emil and Gary.

Bob began his career as a CPA in public accounting and then moved into the Real Estate business, working in a financial position for homebuilders for 30 years and then for himself for the past 13. He loved his profession, and even though he was a numbers guy, most people thought he was in sales. He was the guy everyone loved – always quick with a witty remark and a smile. Despite his love for his work, Bob was always there for his family, never missed a game or important event and was an integral part of his children's lives.

Bob loved sports, whether coaching, playing or watching. He coached his kids in nearly every sport they played – baseball, basketball and soccer (of which he knew nothing and had to learn!). He still has playbooks and rosters, as well as clip boards and trophies from the many teams and kids he's coached along the way, as those memories meant so much to him. What he never realized was how much of an impact he had on so many lives. He felt youth sports were very important and, with others, was instrumental in building the first Viera Suntree Little League fields, next to Suntree Elementary School.

Bob really enjoyed playing golf with his friends and had recently started playing poker with a group at the country club. He looked forward to those days and was extremely disappointed when his health began to impact his ability to take part. Bob also loved to gamble and was known to have a friendly wager on any game that he watched on tv, while enjoying a glass of bourbon and a cigar.

Bob was one of a kind and will be very missed by the many that knew him.

A funeral Mass will be held for Bob on Tuesday, December 30th at 1:00 pm at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 5655 Stadium Parkway, Viera. There will be a Celebration of Life following the Mass at Suntree Country Club from 3:00-5:00 pm. All are welcome to join in all or any part of this day of remembrance.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to St. John the Evangelist or your favorite charity – Bob generously supported quite a few and would be honored to be remembered in that manner.

Bob was a powerful force of nature with a strong presence in any room he occupied. He helped build the apex of my career as I worked with him creating a development company for Mercedes Homes. He was a creative deal maker and I remember doing an all night negotiation with him on a major development in Satellite Beach. He had an energy and a commitment to excellence that I´ve always admired, and a toughness mixed with compassion. It´s a smaller, less interesting world without Bob.

I´m sad he left so early. He must have had so much more still to give to his family...
