Robert Earl "Bob" Kyle, 89, passed away on Friday, June 28, 2024, in Clute, Texas. He was born March 30, 1935, in Clute, Texas to Sidney Kyle and Texanna Kyle. He was a lifelong resident of Clute.
Bob worked as the General Foreman for the Velasco Drainage District, he retired March 31, 2000 after 41 years of service.
His passion was taking care of his cows and being in the pasture baling hay, mowing, building fences, and anything to do with ranching. He also enjoyed helping friends work their cattle. As a family we will always miss celebrating Thanksgiving at "The Ridge" pasture. Bob was a hard worker and would do anything he could to help his family, friends, and even strangers.
He was preceded in death by Torcha Kyle; his brothers, Murphy Davis, Finley Kyle, and Kenneth Kyle; sisters, Jeanette Smith, Norma Veazey, Mildred Maxwell, and Nelda Stewart; and infant son, Robert Earl Kyle, Jr.
Bob is survived by his daughter, Laura Whitlow of Clute, Texas; son, Larry Kyle and his wife, Martina, of Clute, Texas; grandchildren, Clayton Whitlow, Wade Whitlow, Robert Kyle, and Ashley van Haaren. He was also blessed with eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral service begins at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 2, 2024, and will be held at Stroud Funeral Home located in Clute. A private burial will be held at Restwood Cemetery.
