Robert M. "Bo" LaBonte, 62, of New Bedford died Thursday, February 13, 2025 at Charlton Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.
Born in New Bedford, son of Claudette (LaMarche) LaBonte and the late Leopold LaBonte, he lived in New Bedford and Dartmouth for most of his life.
Bo was self-employed as a carpenter for most of his life. He could fix just about anything and in addition to being a skilled carpenter, he enjoyed working on cars, hunting, attending events at Seekonk Speedway, cooking, going to Plymouth and the Cape Cod Canal, and taking long drives in search of the best lobster roll.
In addition to his mother, Claudette, he is survived by two sons, Quintin LaBonte and his wife Caroline and Preston LaBonte and his wife Jordan; his grandson, Ezren LaBonte; two sisters, Sue LaBonte and Michelle Bodell; and his longtime partner, Judy Howland.
A celebration of Bo's life will be held Saturday, March 8, 2025 from 11:30 AM - 1:30 PM at the Century House, 107 S. Main Street, Acushnet, MA 02743. For online guestbook, visit www.saundersdwyer.com.

Grief can be so hard, but our special memories help us cope. Remembering you and your loved one today and always. I found this picture of Bo, Sue and Michelle as youngsters. I am their cousin, my Mom was Claudette´s Aunt. I ended up sending a donation in his memory to St Jude. Something I think Bo would appreciate.
Love to the family.
