CARBONDALE - Robert Alan Laczynski, 82, passed away on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale with his loving family by his side.
Robert was born on October 14, 1941 in Chicago, Illinois to Albin and Lillias (Cairns) Laczynski. Robert married Julie Gundberg on October 13, 1962 in Biloxi, Mississippi.
Robert served his country in the U.S. Airforce from 1962 to 1966. He then worked as a carpenter for over 50 years. He enjoyed his family, helping others, reading, coaching his son's sports teams, water sports, and scuba diving.
Robert is survived by his loving wife, Julie Laczynski; sons, David (Sandy) Laczynski and Darrel (Erin) Laczynski; daughter-in-law, Kate Laczynski; 9 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; siblings, Carol Schimanski, Tom (Pat) Laczynski, JoAnne (Wayne) Dixon, and Rich (Marti) Laczynski; and sister-in-law, Jo Laczynski.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Douglas Laczynski; brother, Kenneth Laczynski; sister, Diane Snider.
Per Robert's wishes, no services will be held.
