Robert Lee "Bob" Lajoie

OAKHAM - Robert "Bob" Lee Lajoie, 62, of Oakham, passed away suddenly on March 13, 2023, while recovering from surgery for lung cancer. Bob was born on February 17, 1961, to Lionel and Earlene Lajoie in Worcester.
After graduating from Quabbin Regional High School in 1979, Bob spent time at Tri-State University in Indiana where he ran track. Bob would go on to join his father, Lee, at Eagle Transport. Following this, Bob and his brother, Richard, founded Lajoie Brothers Transport Company, a successful trucking company they ran together for over 25 years.
Bob met his high school sweetheart and future wife, Lisa Brown, in 1977. They were married for 36 wonderful years. Together they have 3 children, Samuel, Eric, and Abigail.
Bob lived life to the fullest and was a kid at heart. He was often the only adult playing wiffleball or football at family gatherings. He cherished his family and especially enjoyed trips with them to Cocoa Beach, FL, Cape Cod and Bar Harbor, ME. He was an active member of the Oakham Congregational Church and served as a trustee for many years. No matter how many miles he had driven that day, he was always present for his children's school and sports events.
Bob is preceded in death by his father, Lee. He is survived by his beloved wife, Lisa; son, Sam and fiancée Kristina; son, Eric and wife, Jordan; daughter, Abby and husband, Tom; mother, Earlene; sister, Susan and husband, Greg; brother, Richard and partner, Pam and grandsons, Andan, Ezra and Killian.
Friends and family are invited to attend calling hours on Monday, March 20th from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. A funeral will be held on Tuesday, March 21st at 11:00 am at the Oakham Congregational Church, 4 Coldbrook Rd., Oakham. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in Oakham. All are welcome to join the family for a reception at Charlie's Diner in Spencer afterwards. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute Jimmy Fund (danafarber.jimmyfund.org).
