Robert Louis Lassiter

AHOSKIE, NC – Robert Louis Lassiter, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at the age of 78. Born on May 30, 1946, to Cleophus "Okey" Lassiter and Irene Hoggard Lassiter Bryant. Robert was a dedicated roofer in the Roanoke-Chowan area where he enjoyed his passions for hunting and fishing. Robert lived a simple yet fulfilling life surrounded by family, nature, and the work he enjoyed. His presence will be dearly missed but fondly remembered by all who knew him.
Along with his parents, Robert was also preceded in death by his sister, Shirley Lassiter Speight. Robert will be deeply missed by his surviving family, including his son, Robert "Robbie" Lassiter, Jr. of Georgia; his sisters, Vivian Lassiter Whitehurst and her husband John of Suffolk, VA, and Patricia Lassiter West Herrin of Ahoskie, NC; his brother-in-law, Thomas Speight of Gates, NC, his two grandchildren, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews, who all held a special place in his heart.
Robert's life will be celebrated with a funeral service on Monday, December 23, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. The service will take place at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service, Ahoskie Chapel, officiated by Pastor Greg Hurdle, where family and friends are invited to remember his life and honor his memory.
