Robert M. "Bob" Leaf

It is with a mixture of sadness and celebration that we announce the passing of Robert M. "Bob" Leaf, who left us on February 26, 2025. He was born on November 3, 1955, in Euclid, Ohio, and was a longtime resident of Mentor, Ohio.
Bob graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry from Cleveland State University. He built a fulfilling career as an Analytical Chemist, contributing to the scientific community before entering a well-deserved retirement. However, those who knew Bob best will fondly remember his lifelong passion for music. From a young age, he picked up the guitar, and music became an integral part of his life. Bob had the privilege of sharing his talent with others, playing with various bands throughout his life. He was known for his performances alongside Father Tim Plavac in the band Body and Soul, and White Magnolia with Carrie Hare. With Bob's acoustic guitar and Carrie's outstanding voice, this duo entertained music lovers of all ages. Most notably, Bob was the guitarist with The Diamond Project Band, where he brought joy to audiences with his stage presence and musical talent. Bob is deeply missed by all whose lives he touched through his kindness, laughter, and music.
Bob was the loving son of Rose Leaf (nee Franks) and Robert E. Leaf (deceased); a caring brother of Jeffrey Leaf (Annette); and proud uncle of Ashley Leaf, and Courtney Leaf-Pollock (Keith).
Family will receive friends on Monday, March 3, 2025 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Monreal Srnick Funerals & Cremations 35400 Curtis Blvd. Eastlake, Ohio 44095. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at 10:30 AM at St. Bede the Venerable Parish 9114 Lakeshore Blvd. Mentor, OH 44060. Burial will immediately follow at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon, Ohio.
