Robert Lee “Bob” Kreps, 85, of Zanesville, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2025, at the Oaks at Bethesda, surrounded by his family.
Bob was born in Zanesville on March 5, 1940, a son of the late George Kreps Sr. and Inez Mae (Kildow) Kreps. Throughout his life, Bob worked for Franklin Printing and later for Walmart in the maintenance department. He enjoyed spending time outdoors fishing, cheering on NASCAR, appreciating old and classic cars and trucks, and listening to country music. Above all, he treasured his family—especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He previously attended Immanuel United Church of Christ in Zanesville.
Bob is survived by his two daughters, Lynda Gilliland and Layne Kreps-Harris; his grandchildren, Alex, Mikki, Alicia, Meranda, Mikah, Bobby, Neil, and Cory; and his great-grandchildren, James, Christopher, Laury, Hevin, Samantha, Brantley, Mila, Oden, Henry, Ellie, Silas, and Charlie. He is also survived by his brother, George Kreps; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Carol J. Kreps, whom he married on July 1, 1967, and who passed away on June 8, 2011; his daughter, Laury Kreps, who passed away in 1998; his son-in-law, Bobby Harris; his sister, Mary Lear; and his beloved cat, Tom.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the Oaks at Bethesda and Shriver’s Hospice for the compassionate care provided to Bob.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making memorial contributions in Bob’s name to Shriver’s Hospice, 2052 East Pike, Zanesville, Ohio 43701.
