Robert Franklin Obituary

Robert Lee Franklin, 80, of Demorest, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center - Habersham.
Born on December 6, 1944, Robert was a son of the late Robert Dewey and Katie Mae Nations Franklin. He was a loving husband, father, papa, brother, and friend whose presence enriched the lives of all who knew him.
For many years, Robert dedicated his career to being self-employed in the logging industry. His work ethic and commitment to his craft were admired by colleagues and clients alike. Beyond his professional life, Robert was a member of River Road Mission Church in Demorest, where he found a community that shared his values and faith.
Robert cherished every moment spent with his family. His greatest joy came from being a supportive husband and a doting father and papa, creating lasting memories filled with love and laughter. Family gatherings were often filled with stories and laughter, reflecting the warmth he brought to each encounter.
In his leisure time, Robert was a big fan of WWE wrestling, where he enjoyed the excitement and spectacle that it offered. He also had a fondness for old western movies and shows, which provided him with endless entertainment and a connection to a bygone era he cherished.
As we remember Robert Lee Franklin, we celebrate the legacy of kindness and love he leaves behind. His spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends, as they carry forward the lessons of love, strength, and faith that he imparted throughout his life.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Bobbie Lee Burns; granddaughters, Tiffany Beck, Brittany Burns, and Tracie Beck Whitlock; brothers, Bill Franklin and Larry Franklin.
Survivors include his loving wife, Brenda Byers Franklin; sons and daughter-in-law, Dewey and Danita Franklin, Benjamin Franklin; daughters and sons-in-law, Shelia and Chris Brown, Tammy Skelton, Jennifer and Terry Pitts, Christy Jones, Nicole Franklin, Lakeeta Porterfield Smith and Benjamin Smith, Tammy and Danny Lance, and Makenzie Franklin; brother, Harold Franklin; sisters, Mary Ann Fry, Patricia Ann Swafford, Lear Mae Gudger, Annette Watts, and Greta Weaver; 29 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m., Saturday, March 8, 2025, from the chapel of McGahee-Griffin and McEntire Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Trotter and Rev. Kenneth Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens.
