Robert E. Lee, 78, passed on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at Providence Hospital. There will be no service.
Robert was born October 30, 1946, at Providence Hospital, on 18th and Colcord in Waco, TX and passed away at Providence Hospital of double pneumonia, tumors in his lungs, and other problems. He had many falls and broken bones, hips, neck, etc. over the years. He was a patient at Ridgecrest Nursing Home, Hwy 6, Waco for many years.
Robert was hit by a drunk driver on Easter at the age of 6 ½. He was to be an Easter Bunny at the school May Fate on South 3rd St. He attended LaVega Schools, and South Junior. He played in the band; he got his GED at Baylor in the 60’s. Robert worked for the Grey Hound Bus Station Café on Columbus Ave, Genie Car Wash, and was past postman at Texan Rest Home. He was proud of all of these. He loved to walk before his hip was broken. He loved to read and liked people. God Bless his soul. This was his life.
Robert was preceded in death by his father, mother, brother, grandmother, grandfather: E.L., Naomi, John Henry, Laura Bell, and George Cecil Lee.
He is survived by a sister, brother-in-law, 2 nephews, 4 great-nephews, and one great-great-niece. Mary and “Pete” Nering, Matthew and John Nering, Hunter and Cody Nering, Calvin, and Johnny Nering, and Miss Paisley Nering.
