Robert W. Leibforth, 89, passed away at U.H. Portage Medical Center on Friday, March 16, 2018.

Robert was born in Padin City, West Virginia on February 11, 1929 to parents Elmer and Violet Leibforth. Robert graduated from Ravenna High School with the class of 1948. He was a U.S. Army Veteran stationed in Germany and France during the Korean War. After his service stint he worked at the Ravenna Arsenal for a while before becoming a self-employed truck driver hauling for Southeast Trucking Co. He subsequently went to work for Loadstar Trucking Co. retiring after many years of service. Robert enjoyed music and played guitar and fiddle in a country music band in high school. He loved listening to his favorite country music vocalist, Connie Smith.

Robert is survived by his children: Nancy A. Leibforth and Robert M. Leibforth. Also surviving are his grandchildren; Jeff (Jen) Fahl, Ashley (Scott) McDonald, Warren (Meg Gemmel) Leibforth and his great-grandchildren: Kane Fahl, Parker McDonald, Ethan Gemmel and Olivia McDonald.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Ruth, his brother Elmer Leibforth and his sister Violet Rose Gauding.

Friends and family will be received at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St. Ravenna, on Thursday, March 22, 2018 from 5:00pm until 7:00pm where the funeral service will be held on Friday, March 23, at 11:00am. Interment will follow at Grandview Memorial Park.
