Robert Stephen Lent

Robert Stephen Lent, born on March 15, 1950, in Long Island, NY, has officially moved on to manage the logistics of the afterlife as of March 27, 2025, at the seasoned age of 75. He departed this earthly realm in Norfolk, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and an impressive array of baseball caps.
Robert spent his professional life responsible for shipping and stocking freight and tools. Despite the complexities of global logistics, he remained stubbornly committed to his routines, a trait both celebrated and lovingly endured by those who knew him best. If there was one thing Robert thrived at, it was being stuck in his ways with a carefree charm that endeared him to family and friends alike.
Growing up in New York, Robert's allegiance to baseball was as predictable as his morning coffee. Initially a staunch Yankees fan, he made the controversial transition to the New York Mets, proving that even the most steadfast can occasionally be swayed-or perhaps he just enjoyed rooting for the underdogs.
Beyond baseball, Robert's true passion lay in spending quality time with his family. He cherished every moment with his children, Christopher and Courtney, who survive him and now carry forward his legacy of stubborn affection.
Robert is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sally Lent, and his parents, Robert F. Lent and Natalie DeCastro Lent. While he may no longer be among us, we imagine he's having a lively reunion with them in the great beyond, debating sports and navigating celestial supply chains.
In accordance with his wishes, services will remain private. As we remember Robert, let us celebrate the humor, steadfastness, and unyielding love that comprised the fabric of his life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you simply take a moment to stubbornly hold onto your favorite pastime, just as Robert always did.
