The incomparable Dr. Robert E. Leone passed away December 16, 2025 at home in Tomball, surrounded by family. He is survived by his devoted and loving wife Kelly, beloved daughters Natalie (Brandon) Frost & Veronica Leone, treasured step-children John (Marisa) Maniscalco & Shannon (Jeremy) Oliver, sister Jill Barbarise, goddaughter and niece Brittany Boccia and his loyal companion Daisy. He was an amazing husband and father, and a doting grandfather to Ava, Leonidas, Lydia, Emma, Grace, Wills, and Tessa. He is preceded in death by his parents, Henrietta Leone and Edgar Leone.
Dr. Bob will be remembered for his larger-than-life personality, voracious love of learning, inventive ideas, and willingness to push boundaries. He was deeply guided by humor and was never afraid to tell a joke right on the edge of too far.
He had a big heart and a strong sense of justice. As a young boy he created a toy drive for a hospitalized injured friend, and in his later years supported a Guatemalan hospital. In-between he contributed to countless causes and scholarships and made sure he left the world in a better condition than he found it.
Dr. Bob was a renowned trial psychologist and attorney who worked with titans of the legal industry on dozens of high-profile and landmark cases. After serving as the Director of Research at The Wilmington Institute in Dallas, one of the nation's leading jury research firms, he then joined The Lanier Law Firm and served as their in-house trial psychologist for over 20 years.
Dr. Bob earned his undergraduate degree in psychology from Farleigh Dickenson University in 1970 and was an accomplished student athlete competing in gymnastics and wrestling. He went on to earn his Master's degree in Research Design from Farleigh Dickenson University in 1976, his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from U.S. International University in San Diego in 1983, and his law degree from Texas Wesleyan University School of Law in 1993. While at Texas Wesleyan Dr. Bob helped establish the school's first legal fraternity, Delta Theta Phi, and later served as its international Chancellor and earned their life-time achievement award.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He lived fully and boldly and though he is gone, his spirit lives on in the stories, laughter, and lives he shaped.
