Robert Arthur “Bob” LeVee, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully at his home in Gillette, Wyoming, on August 12, 2025, after a long, hard-fought battle with COPD. Born in Belle Fourche, South Dakota, on December 28, 1954, Bob lived a life filled with love, laughter, hard work, and passion—a life that left a lasting impact on all who knew him.
Bob graduated from Belle Fourche High School in 1973 and from the Denver Automotive School in 1975. His lifelong love for automobiles led to a respected career in the industry, beginning as an auto body painter and later moving into service management. His longest and most notable tenure was at Barth-Schilling Chrysler, where he helped establish and grow the service department into a trusted part of the community. In 2002 Bob and Jennifer co-founded Car-Knack, Inc. building another lasting part of their shared legacy
On May 29, 1977, Bob married the love of his life, Jennifer—a partnership that began when he was her softball coach in high school. Their wedding was held in the same church where her parents had been married, making the day even more meaningful. Together they built a life grounded in teamwork, laughter and shared dreams. In 1978, they moved to Gillette when Bob started work for Stockmens Motors and where they created a warm & welcome home. The following year, in 1979, they co-founded the Gillette Karate Club, where Bob taught for 15 years, earned his 3rd-degree black belt in Okinawa Kenpo, and competed in full-contact fighting (PKA)
Outside the dojo, Bob played softball well into his early 50s, often taking the pitcher’s mound with his trademark unique style and a grin to match.
Bob’s energy and enthusiasm for life extended far beyond work, karate, and softball. He enjoyed golf, coaching and watching his kids competing in various sports along with cheering on the Chicago Bears and the New York Yankees. Later in life—camping weekends and bike rides with Jennifer and their lifelong friends. His sense of humor was one of a kind, often summed up in his own words: “It’s been real… it’s been fun… but I can’t say it was real fun
A man of deep faith, Bob was a proud member of the New Life Wesleyan Church. Above all, he was a devoted family man who found his greatest joy in time spent with his wife, sons, and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Jennifer, sons Mason (Kim) LeVee and Brandan (Lacy) LeVee; five grandchildren, Hayden, Byron, Rylan, Liberty, & Brooks. His Sister-in-Law’s Sandra (Mike) Baker, Deb Helmer & Cindy LeVee along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert C. LeVee and Katherine Loose his brothers Ames, Mark Kissack and Doug LeVee; His in-laws Glenn & Betty Helmer, brother-in-law Jeff Helmer & Niece Krista Baker.
Bob will be remembered for his hard work, dedication, humor, and love of family.
