Robert Lewis Obituary
Robert R. Lewis, 88, of Slatington, passed away in his home on Wednesday, November 6, 2024. He was the husband of the late Grace I. L. (Williams) Lewis, who passed away in 2015. Born in Slatedale on August 7, 1936, he was the son of the late Raymond S. and Hattie B. (Bittner) Lewis. Robert worked 32 years for Alpo Foods, retiring in 1992 from a management position. He was a member of St. John’s UCC, Slatington. Robert enjoyed fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, and was a life member of the Emerald Fire Co., the Slatington Skeet Club, and member of the Heidelberg Game Protective Association.
Robert will be lovingly remembered by his sons: Dale R. Lewis and companion Cheryl Kern of Slatington, Craig L. Lewis and wife Mary of Catasauqua; grandchildren: Robert Lewis & Shane Lewis; 6 step-grandchildren; 7 step-great-grandchildren; Sister; Nancy Reichard of Seipstown. He was predeceased by 6 siblings.
A funeral service will be held at11AM on Monday, November 11, 2024, at Harding Funeral Home, 25-27 N. 2nd Street, Slatington. Family and friends may pay their respects from 10 to 11AM. Interment to follow at Slatedale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Robert’s name can be made to either St. John’s UCC General Fund or Emerald Fire Co., both c/o the funeral home.
