Robert Lewis

Robert Lewis, 87, a resident of Livingston, LA, and a native of Morton, MS, passed away February 2, 2026. Robert was loyal and generous, a faithful husband, father, grandfather, and friend. A longtime member of First Baptist Church of Livingston, Robert loved serving others and always looked for a way to play a joke on someone. He was an avid outdoorsman and spent many days in the woods or on the water, most often with his friends and family. He spent his career in the egg business, working for Cal-Maine Foods for 40 years, most recently managing the Cal-Maine Foods egg farm in Pine Grove, LA for 30 years. Robert was a proud veteran, having served in the United States Army for four years.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sarah Lewis; daughters, Robin Lewis (Barry), Elise White (Richard); sons, Chris Lewis (Peggy), Bobby McDill (Melanie), John McDill (Traci); sisters, Bea Phillips, Dorothy Purvis (Edgar); brothers, Rick Lewis (Sandy), Jim Lewis (Christine); grandchildren, Penny Pitts, BJ McDill, Emily Hardin, Cory McDill, Cheyenne Conner, Dakota Wilkerson, Maddie White, Hayes White, Myles White; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents, Peek and Nell Lewis; daughter, Penny Lewis Dearing; and brother-in-law, Roy Phillips.

Pallbearers will be Chris Lewis, Bobby McDill, John McDill, BJ McDill, Cory McDill, Hayes White, and Myles White. Honorary pallbearers will be Garland Taylor, Tommy Wallace, Drew Lewis, and Wimp Ballard.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at First Baptist Church of Livingston at 29401 S Frost Rd., Livingston, LA on Saturday, February 7, 2026 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Sunday, February 8, 2026 from 1:00 p.m. until the funeral service at 3:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Gateway Memorial Garden Cemetery in Livingston.
