Bob Lewis, 85, of Wilmington, MA, passed away peacefully at Lahey Hospital in Burlington, Massachusetts, after a brief illness.

Born in Salem, Massachusetts, on February 9, 1940, to the late Arthur L. and Gertrude E. (Sweeney) Lewis, he was raised in Danvers, MA.

Bob built a solid career as a skilled machinist, retiring from Kevlin Company in 2001 after many dedicated years in the industry. In retirement, he remained active, often lending a hand to neighbors with home projects or repairs. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and time spent at his camp in Beddington, Maine, where he relaxed with friends and enjoyed the simple pleasures of nature.

Bob is survived by his devoted wife of many years, Rita Lewis of Wilmington; his children, Todd Lewis and his wife Tami of Raymond, NH, Michael Lewis and his wife Leah of Pelham, NH, Julie Briggs of Hampstead, NH, Chris Briggs and his wife Debbie of Brookfield, NH, Linda Gorton and her husband Jeff of Hampstead, NH, and Stephanie Briggs and her wife Teresa Henry of Salem, NH; as well as his children Mark Lewis, Glen Lewis, and Laurie Pearl; his grandchildren Jaclyn McNamara and her husband Ryan, Jessica Nelson, Erika Jubinville and her husband Nick Sullivan, Joe Desharnais, Bobby Lewis and his wife Stephanie, Sarah Gorton, and Jenna Gorton; and his great-grandchildren Bryan Desharnais, Gianna McNamara, Ava McNamara, and Scarlett Desharnais.

He also leaves behind his sisters-in-law Ann Therrien of Manchester, NH, and Karen Lewis of North Hampton, NH, along with many extended family members and friends who will miss his companionship and willingness to help.

In addition to his parents, Bob was predeceased by his brother, Bunky Lewis and many sisters in law, brothers in law, nieces, and nephews.

At Bob's request, there will be no formal services.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Wilmington Community Fund, PO Box 147, Wilmington, MA 01887.
