Donna Phelps Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Nichols Funeral Home - Wilmington on Feb. 5, 2026.
Donna M. Phelps, age 61, of Sanford, ME, formerly of Tewksbury, MA, passed away on January 17, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Donna was born on June 7, 1964, in Waltham, MA; she was the daughter of the late John and Theresa (Hughes) Phelps. Donna was raised in Tewksbury and attended Tewksbury schools. She later took college-level accounting classes, always valuing learning and self-improvement.

Donna loved to cook and had a special fondness for watching "The Great British Baking Show." She enjoyed movies, books, music, and crafting, and she had a deep love for animals-especially her two cherished cats. Donna had a wonderful sense of humor, loved to make others laugh, and her infectious laugh could brighten any room. She also enjoyed spending time at the lake and treasured the peace and joy it brought her.

Donna was a loving, warm-hearted woman whose greatest joy in life was her family. She especially cherished her surrogate grandchildren, who brought her endless happiness and pride. Donna was happy with a generous and caring spirit and devoted much of her life to being a caregiver to her beloved sisters, Diane, and Maureen offering comfort, patience, and unwavering love.

Donna will be remembered for her kindness, her laughter, her compassion, and the deep love she gave so freely to those around her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.

Donna was preceded in death by her father, John Phelps; her mother, Theresa Hughes Phelps; her brother, David Phelps; and her sisters, Linda Eisener, Diane LePage, and Maureen Crimmins.

She is survived by her devoted partner of 25 years, Anthony Brown; her daughter, Melissa Phelps-Goodwin; her sisters, Sharen Pestana, Denise Sitar (her twin sister), and Cindy Diliberto and husband Rick Diliberto; sister-in-law Karen Phelps; as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins, all of whom she loved dearly.

Funeral Services for Donna will be private.
