Robert “Bob” Lilya, 90, Spring Lake Park, Minnesota, passed away on December 26, 2025. He was born May 27, 1935 to Clarence and Lucy (Roberts) Lilya.
Bob graduated from Chisholm High School in 1953. After high school, he enlisted in the Navy. While serving, he had the opportunity to play baseball for the Navy team. He was a pitcher and was featured in All Navy Magazine.
While on leave from the Navy, Bob met Karen “Judy” Rude at the Sweet Shop in Chisholm. She fell in love with his personality. He was easy-going and patient. The two got married on December 3, 1957. They made their home in Spring Lake Park. Bob and Judy had four kids; Rob, Bill, Susan, and Kristin.
Bob was a well-liked person. He had a knack for talking to people. He was generous, patient, and helped anyone out every chance he got. He loved to golf, tend to his lawn and garden, and spend time in the sun.
Grateful for having shared in Bob’s life are his wife, Judy Lilya; children, Rob Lilya, Bill (Teresa) Lilya, Susan (Ted) Elliott, and Kristin (Aaron) Thompson; 5 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Lucy Lilya; sisters, Kathy Lindstrom, JoAnn Fiori, and Barbara Jukich (Ranta).
He will be deeply missed by his family.
At Bob’s request, no funeral services will be held.
