ELIDA -- Robert "Bob" Carl Line, age 94 of Elida, passed away Monday, December 1, 2025, at 4:49 p.m., at his residence surrounded by his family.
Bob was born October 21, 1931, in Lima, to Carl Dewey and Luella (Reed) Line who preceded him in death. On March 28, 1954, he married Elinor Lynne Rutter Line who survives.
Survivors include their children: Michael (Becky) Robert Line of Wapakoneta, Diane (Paul) Marie Koch and James (Trisha) Matthew Line both of Elida; Grandchildren: James (Angela) Line, Michele (Ben) Eichman, Aaron (Lauren) Koch, Megan (Ryan) Dunlap, Bethany (Matt) Ross, Jessica (fiance Trey Evans) Line, Joshua (Nicole) Line, Andrew (Kenny) Line-Thompson, 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Bob retired from Buckeye Pipeline after 38 years of service, as a pump station operator/delivery man. He was a 1949 graduate of Lima South High School. He attended Ohio Northern University. He was an avid bowler at 20th Century Lanes, being a past president of the Lima Bowling Association and a member of the Lima Bowling Association Hall of Fame. He umpired baseball, softball, and a final four state championship in baseball. He enjoyed his fishing trips to Canada for many years. One of his greatest joys in life was being an Elida Band Booster, being Ranger Bob at band camp for over 40 years and making the band trips with the youngsters. He was a member of Epworth U.M.C./Family of Faith for over 80 years.
Visitation will be on Monday, December 8, 2025, at the Shawnee Chapel of Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m., and again on Tuesday, from 10:00 a.m., until the time of the service. His funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at the funeral home with Pastor Randy Coleman officiating the service. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

16 yrs I had the privilege of knowing Bob. One of the many reasons why I loved going to church was to get a hug from him. I'd get there and dust thing I'd do is make a bee line right for him and Lynn. If I missed it before church I'd make sure I got it after wards. He is going to be missed so much. Prayers for Lynn and the whole family.
