We mournfully announce the passing of a loving and dedicated man, Robert Edwin Lisher, known to friends and family as Bob. Born on October 29, 1940, in Philadelphia, PA, Bob was a loyal son, a smart brother, a committed husband, and a nurturing father and grandfather.
Bob was a man of immense dedication to his family, his faith, and his nation. He served his country honorably as a U.S. Army veteran. Professionally, Bob was a skilled electric engineer where he worked through the transition from Jerrold Electronics to General Instrument Cooperation and finally Motorola. His loyalty extended beyond his professional life, as he was a steadfast supporter of the Philadelphia Phillies and Penn State Football. His hobbies included playing on the computer, specifically solitaire, collecting Department 56 and model trains. But perhaps what he held closest to his heart was his love for his family and his dogs.
Bob is survived by his loving spouse of 59 years, Janet Lisher; their devoted children, Sandy Hogan and her husband David, and Scott Lisher and his wife Leslie; his beloved grandsons, Rohn and Theo Lisher and his fur baby Harper. He will be missed by his supportive brother, Charles Lisher and his wife Dianne; his sister-in-law Karen Lynn and her husband Bob, his nieces, nephews and other relatives. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Wilhemina Lisher.
Bob's family would like to send a special thank you to Denise Ardis for her compassion and faithful dedication for helping Bob with physical therapy and Sue Galow for her loving care and companionship with Bob, before he passed.
Relatives and friends may greet his family on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, from 10:00 am - 11:30 am at Lambie Funeral Home, 8000 Rowland Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19136. His funeral service will follow at 11:30 am. Military Honors and Graveside Service will be at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown, Pennsylvania, 18940 at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bob's memory to Wounded Warrior Project or to Tiny Paws Rescue would be greatly appreciated.
We invite all who knew and loved Bob to share their stories, memories, and photos on his memorial page. This is a place where we can all remember and celebrate the life of this truly remarkable man, Bob Lisher. His enduring love, dedication, loyalty, and intelligence will forever be etched in our hearts.
