Funeral services for Robert “Chester” Lofton, 81, will be held on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Self Cemetery, Barham Rd. in Hornbeck, Louisiana. A visitation will be held on Thursday, November 13, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Officiating the service will be Rev. Paul Hayes and Rev. Pat Richardson.
Chester was born on July 14, 1944 in Florien, Louisiana to William Neal Lofton and Nettie Bell Evans Lofton and passed away on Thursday, November 6, 2025, in Shreveport.
Chester was married to the love of his life, Bea Lofton. His career consisted of working many different jobs of which he enjoyed each and every one of them. His passion was attending church where he served as an usher that brought him great pleasure.
Chester is preceded in death by his parents, William and Nettie Lofton; wife, Bea Lofton; brothers, Lester Dewil and wife, Nell, Arthur Dewil and wife, Jerry, Eugene Lofton, Lavon Lofton and wife, Claudia, and Leroy Lofton. Left to cherish Chester’s memory are his sisters, Faye Lofton Brannan, and Linda Lofton; sister-in-law, Lois Lofton; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Honoring Chester as pallbearers will be Michael Malone, Nathan Malone, Jim Richards, Mickey Stark, Joah Jett, and Ed Merryman.
Memorials may be made in Chester’s name to First Baptist Church of Blanchard or the Self Cemetery in Hornbeck, Louisiana.
