Robert Loftus Obituary

Published by Legacy on Sep. 18, 2025.
Bob was born in East Hartford, CT. 7-27-39 to Dorothy Mae Ellis & William C. Loftus, attended school with his friends and graduated 1957, joined the U.S. Air Force right after.

While growing up, loved to be outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. The Air Force sent him up to the Distant Early Warning line, at the base in Iceland for a year. He came back to Mitchel AFB in East Meadow, NY in 1959 where he worked as a teletype operator. He met his future wife Susan through the connection on teletype. They dated in June 1959 and married Susan 11-20-59.

After an honorable discharge, worked for the U.S. Government, then private industry. He was an accomplished investment agent, then began at Sony in 1975.

Bob & Susan raised three children, Sandra, David (JoAnne) who passed at 42, and Jeff (Shari).

Company moves took his family from New York, to Maryland, to Georgia, to New Jersey, and Florida. Eventually, after 18 years in Coral Springs, FL, in 2014 moved to The Villages, where he enjoyed golf and trail walking.

He was a father, grandfather to 3, and great-grandfather to 7.

Beloved by all, Bob was a shining light in all of our lives.
