Funeral services for Mr. Robert “Weston” Logan age 92 will be held 2:00pm Friday at the Chapel of Norton Funeral Home in Bishopville. Mr. Dwain Watson will officiate, with burial in the Piedmont Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services.
Mr. Logan was born near Alcolu, SC in Clarendon County. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Bonnie Horton Logan. She passed away on November 17, 2019. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Johnnie Ransom Logan, Sr. and Kathleen Morgan Logan.
He was a member of the High Hill True Light Church of Lucknow, SC. He retired after 42 years at the Department of Transportation as Resident Maintenance Engineer in Lee County including various positions in Lee and Sumter counties.
He enjoyed visiting antique tractor shows, gardening, squirrel hunting and fishing. He liked to travel and take day trips, visiting all of the South Carolina State Parks twice in two years. He enjoyed spending time with his family.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Kathy Mingus, Bishopville, Sandra Catoe (Barry), Bethune, Donna Metz (Marty), Florence, grandchildren, Savannah Fenner (Josh), Abigail Gassert (Jathan), Keith McCathern, West McCathern (Becky), great grandchildren Luke McCathern and Lauren McCathern, three step-grandchildren, seven step great grandchildren, one great grandaughter due to arrive in May, one step great great grandchild, two honorary grandchildren, Kaylee Burroughs and Michaelah Wise, brothers, Reynolds Logan, J.R. Logan, Jr. (Judy), Dekle Logan (Jennifer), sisters Melissa Logan, Grace Hawkins, Annette Hopkins, Eddie Mae Reynolds, Sarah Ruth Copeland, Rosalie Hyatt, and Virginia Brewer (Barney).
He was preceded in death by his wife and his parents, two brothers, Otis Logan and Fate Logan, son in law, Mike Mingus, brothers in law, Edward Hall, Mayo Hyatt, Harold Hodge, Billy Hopkins, Sam Copeland, Aubrey Hawkins, Thelbert “Junior” Horton, sisters in law, Joan Horton, Paulette Logan and stepdaughter Tammy Horton.
Memorials may be made to Piedmont Cemetery Association, C/O John Broadway, 629 Springhill Rd, Bishopville, SC 29010 or a charity of one's choice.
