Robert Eugene Lowe, age 91, of Indianapolis, passed away on December 26, 2025 surrounded by his family. Born on April 2,1934 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late William H. Lowe and Esther Emma Lowe, he was a United States Army veteran. Robert retired from the Indianapolis Fire Department after 20 years of service. He continued civil service for an additional 15 years after retirement, serving as Chief of Perry Township Fire Department for one and half years.
Often seen with a camera in hand, his passion for photography eventually led him to open Lowe Photo. He was an avid traveler and enjoyed motorcycles and camping.
He is survived by children, Meryle Ann Lowe, Robert "Eric" Lowe (Rosalie Lowe), Gretchen Lowe Myers, and Candice "Heidi" Frederick (Jeffrey Frederick); 16 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. He was a beloved uncle.
He was preceded in death by daughter Patricia "Gail" Johnson; son, Douglas Eugene Lowe; his companion of 36 years Jacqueline Malone; one sister, Dorothy J. Alexander; two brothers, Donald R. Lowe and William H. Lowe, Jr.; a half-brother David Joseph Blythe and an infant grandchild Jacob Myers.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 29th from 11-1:00 PM at G.H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home followed by the funeral service at 1:00 PM. He will be laid to rest at The Gardens at Olive Branch Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Tunnel to Towers.

Sad to see he passed away. He did a great job when he was Chief at Perry Township. Had some good laughs together. Praying for the family for their lost.
