Robert Lowell Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Montano-Shea Funeral Home - Winsted on Jan. 7, 2026.
Robert William Lowell of Winsted, Connecticut, passed away peacefully at his home on January 6, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on August 18, 1943, in Portland, Maine.
Robert is survived by his wife of 52 years, Judith Lowell, with whom he shared a life filled with love, laughter, and companionship. He is also survived by his sister Dorothy (Richard) Wilbur; his children Michael (Ann) Naticha, Beth (Jay) Jackson, and Melissa (Dan) Levy; and his cherished grandchildren David Michael, Blane, Grayson, Sawyer (Leora), Avi, Jacob, Olivia, and Mackenzie. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews who held a special place in his heart.
He was predeceased by his parents Robert and "Polly" Lowell, his brother Albert "Skip" Lowell, and his son David Naticha.
Robert grew up in Maine and graduated from Portland High School, where he proudly competed on the swim team and took great pride in his butterfly stroke. An avid and talented woodworker, Robert had an incredible ability to fix just about anything. His hands were rarely still, and his projects reflected both skill and care.
He was known for his quick wit and wonderful sense of humor, always ready with a joke or a smile. Robert loved animals and nature, especially watching birds, and he found great enjoyment spending time in his yard and tending to his garden.
Robert dedicated 34 years of his career to Pratt & Whitney Aircraft, followed by 10 years at Goulet Printery, before retiring. His strong work ethic and craftsmanship were hallmarks of his professional life.
Above all else, Robert was happiest spending time with his dog Tucker and his wife Judy, whose love and companionship meant everything to him. His steady presence, kindness, and humor will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Montano-Shea Funeral Home, Winsted has care of the arrangements. Visit an online guestbook at montano-shea.com.
