Robert Macmillan

Robert Aaron Macmillan, age 74, of Chesterton, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2025, peacefully beside family. He was born on August 24, 1951, in Syracuse, New York to Vernon Alan and Betty Ann (Stanton) Macmillan.
His legacy is carried on by his son, Isaac; a grandson, Cooper; brothers, Kirk (Carole), Brian (Yvonne), Bruce and Neil (Peggy); and sisters, Virginia Williams, Nancy and Judy (Steve). He was preceded in death by his sisters, Rita Gale Hunt, Sharon Fay Macmillan, Mary Cora Macmillan and Patricia Marie Aiken.
Robert had a great passion for reading, writing and making music. He was an incredible guitar player and songwriter. He always shared a great interest in studying nature and the weather. He enjoyed sailing and being by the ocean. Robert began his career as a social worker before becoming a Florida state park ranger. He started at Fort Zachary Taylor in Key West and ended at Myakka River in Sarasota. He loved baseball, especially the Chicago Cubs. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
