Robert F. Magnamo, Sr.
Naugatuck, CT Robert F. Magnamo, Sr., 85, husband of Helen (Klimaszewski) Magnamo, died peacefully on September 13, 2025 at his home surrounded by loving family.
Bob was born January 24, 1940 in Waterbury, CT a son of the late Frank and Adeline (Dobrowski) Magnamo and had lived in Naugatuck all of his life. Bob graduated from Naugatuck High School, Class of 1957 and went on to work for 39 years at Chase Brass & Copper and Nu-Tech Precision Metals, retiring as plant manager. After retiring, Bob was a dedicated part-time employee at the Buckmiller Brothers and Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Homes for over 12 years. Bob and Helen were faithful parishioners of St. Francis of Assisi Church and the former St. Hedwig's Church.
Bob enjoyed his family, his grandchildren and traveling. Bob and Helen enjoyed trips to Florida and Maine and went on over 20 cruises together. Bob loved sports, and was a fan of the NY Yankees, NY Jets and NASCAR, with Joey Logano being his favorite driver.
In addition to Helen, his loving wife of 66 years, Bob is survived by his daughter, Dianne Couture; his grandchildren, Amanda Maloney, Sarah Lafo (Tyler), Steven Ambrose and David Magnamo (Teirryn); his great grandchildren, Brayden, Mason, Maverick, Stella, Elizabeth, Jaxon, Noah and Thomas; his brother and sister in law, Joseph and Terry Magnamo and their children, Kathryn Dowling and Patrick Dowling; his sister, Mary Ann Szwei and her son, Gary Szwei and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Bob was predeceased by his son, Robert F. Magnamo, Jr. and his daughter, Kathy Kim Magnamo.
Bob's family would like to sincerely thank all the staff at the Harold Leever Regional Cancer Center, with special thanks to Dr. Victor Chang, and everyone in his office, for the care and support that they provided to Bob and his family for the past 6 years.
Services and burial will be private. There are no calling hours and arrangements have been entrusted to the Buckmiller Ford Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck. In lieu of flowers and to honor Bob's memory, donations are requested to the Harold Leever Regional Cancer Center, 1075 Chase Parkway, Waterbury, CT 06708.
