Robert Manypenny Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Stark Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Services from Jan. 6 to Jan. 7, 2026.
SALEM - Robert "Bob" A. Manypenny, 80, went home to be with the Lord, Friday, December 26, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Boardman with his loving family by his side.

Bob was born in Youngstown, Ohio, on October 2, 1945, to the late Stanley and Mabel (Garrett) Manypenny, one of nine children.

Bob graduated from Greenford High School in 1966, where he played football and was on the track team. He was a dedicated fan of South Range High School sports, Ohio State Buckeyes, and New York Yankees. Bob enjoyed spending time with family including vacations to Long Island, Ocean City, Lake Erie, Virginia and Maine. It was not uncommon to see him in the summer mowing the lawn with his cherished Steiner tractor. He loved spoiling his grandchildren the most, making his special "Papa's applesauce," as well as attending their sporting events and concerts.

Bob loved working on cars and was a talented autobody repairman for 40 years. He worked at Zimmerman Auto Dealership, was self-employed at M&M Auto, and worked at Bob Eddy's Chrysler managing the body shop.

Bob had a strong faith in the Lord and was a member at Greenford Christian Church for 60 years. He served as a deacon, an elder and was on the home communion team. He was a former member of the Greenford Ruritans and cooked chicken at the Canfield Fair for many years.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Linda; a son, Robbie (Ana) Manypenny of Beaver Falls, PA; a daughter, Lynsey Graham of Salem; three grandchildren, Zoe, and Zack Manypenny, and Madeline Graham; two sisters, Shirley Fishel of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Donna (Don) Kendrick of Salem; two brothers, Roy Manypenny of Sebring and Rick (Sandra) Manypenny of Salem; brothers-in-law, David Nelson of Los Angeles, CA, Jim (Colby) Shannonhouse of Columbus; sister-in-law, Carol (Ted) Denson of Springfield, IL, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings, Stanley Manypenny Jr., Bill Manypenny, Betty McMillan, and Gerry Manypenny; sisters-in-law, Barb Manypenny, Donna Dewey, and Melissa Shannonhouse; nephew, Richard Paul Manypenny, and an infant niece.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital 4 West and ICU for their exceptional care and kindness.

Papa we love you and will miss you a lot.

Calling hours will be from 10:30 a.m.-Noon, Saturday, January 17, 2026, immediately followed by a memorial service at Greenford Christian Church, 11767 Lisbon Rd. Greenford, Oh 44422, with Pastor John Bush officiating.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Greenford Christian Church missions.
