Mr. Robert "Bob" K. Marshall

Robert "Bob" K. Marshall, 88, of California, Missouri passed away Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at California Care Center. Bob was born June 18, 1925 in Sedalia, Mo., the son of Ernst and Blanche Wayman Marshall. In 1943 Bob graduated from Smith-Cotton High School. On Aug. 26, 1944, in Louisville, KY, Bob was married to Rita R. Boss, who passed away May 25, 2013. On July 14, 1943 Bob was inducted into the US Army and served in China-Burma-India Offensive where he was awarded three Bronze Stars. He was a Staff Sergeant at the time of his discharge on January 8, 1946. Bob was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 4345 and served as Post Commander from 1964-1965. Although Bob did not share with many his story of his service to his country, he participated in an Honor Flight and visit to the WWII Memorial in Washington, D.C. Upon arriving in California with his family in 1951, he purchased and operated the Uptown Cleaners, owned and operated Uptown Mens Wear, Marshall Construction that built several homes in the area, Marshall Real Estate, Branch Manager for Boonslick Savings and Loan and served on the Board for Moniteau National Bank. He was active in the Annunciation Catholic Church serving through the years in various areas. Bob is survived by: six children, Kenneth Marshall (Mona Ann) of California, Ronald Marshall (Ellen) of Ft. Worth, TX, Sharon Kempker (Joseph) of Holts Summit, David Marshall (Jackie) of Lee's Summit, Carol Zimmerman (friend Charles Wood) of California; Linda Graham (Rickie) of California; 14 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; sister Elneta Estes of Sedalia, Mo.; numerous nieces and nephews. Bob was also preceded in death by his parents, son-in-law and a grandson.
