Robert Massicot

Robert E. Massicot, 75, of Taneytown, MD passed away on March 17, 2026 at York Hospital in York, PA after sustaining an injury. He was born in Baltimore, MD as the youngest of three boys of the late Bernard and Ruth (White) Massicot. He attended Sacred Heart School in Glyndon, MD and was a graduate of Franklin High School in Reisterstown, MD, where he met his wife of 56 years, Beverly. After graduating high school, Robert joined the Army Reserves and started his career as a concrete truck driver for over 15 years. In the 1980's, Robert started a lawn and landscape service that he owned and operated for over 35 years. Robert had many interests and hobbies. He had a passion for American history. He loved to read about war history and always had knowledge to share. He traveled the country to see its beauty and visit historical locations. Since he was young, Robert has always been a train enthusiast. He could often be found enjoying a leisure steam train ride or working on his model train garden. He enjoyed spending time buying and refurbishing antique farm tractors. He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was a member of the American Legion, Taneytown Rod and Gun Club, Train Collectors Association, and National Rifle Association. Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Shelly Rose of Catonsville, MD and Wendi Massicot of Westminster, MD. He is predeceased by daughter, Lynn Marie Massicot, and son, Joseph Allan Massicot. He is survived by godsons, John "Jack" Massicot and Joseph Massicot, and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by brothers, Bernard "Ted" Massicot, Jr. and Larry Massicot. The family will receive friends March 20, 2026, from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, P.A. Taneytown 21787. A funeral mass will be held March 21, 2026, 1pm, St. Joseph Catholic Church, 44 Frederick Street, Taneytown, 21787. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Finksburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Partnership for Animal Welfare, paw-rescue.org, P.O. Box 1074, Greenbelt, MD 20768.
