Robert Alexander Masterson died peacefully at his home on April 9th. Alex was born February 12, 1934 in Decatur, Alabama. He was the co-owner of Masterson's Restaurant. Trained as an engineer, he took great joy in working for the family business until he was 85. Alex is survived by his daughter, Robbie, stepson, Jeff Pruitt (Vickie), granddaughter, Jessica (David), his brother, Gregory (Maggie) and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 54 years, Linda Lou Lambert, his "favorite" grandson Donnie and his older brothers, Thomas and Philip. Alex will be remembered for his sense of humor, tremendous patience, and his vast knowledge of how things worked. He could fix almost anything and if he could not, he would do research until it was fixed. He converted to the Catholic Faith four days before his death. Visitation will be on Sunday, April 13 from 2-8 p.m. at Joseph E. Ratterman & Son Funeral Home, 7336 Southside Drive, with a Rosary service at 7 p.m. The Requiem Funeral Mass will be at Our Lady of the Pillar Chapel, 4049 S. Fifth Street, 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 14 with burial in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. James Academy, 4049 S. Fifth Street, Louisville, KY 40214.
