Robert W. Mattke, fondly known as Bob, passed away on March 20, 2025, at the age of 76 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 5, 1948, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Bob was a proud graduate of South Milwaukee High School- Class of '66. He enjoyed a distinguished career that spanned 42 years at Lakeside Manufacturing, where he held numerous roles, including industrial engineer. He thoroughly enjoyed the retiree crew's monthly luncheons.
Bob's biggest passion outside his family was music. Starting at a young age, he toured the country as a percussionist in Lake Band. His passion continued into high school and into his twenties. His love for music and Drum & Bugle Corp never faded.
A proud veteran, Bob served in the US Army, where he had the unique opportunity to play in the Army Band for two Presidents. His military service was a source of pride for him, reflecting his dedication to his country and his love for music. He had the opportunity to participate in the honor flight and loved every minute of his experience.
Bob was a devoted family man, cherished by his wife of 50 years, Kathleen (nee Pieters) Mattke, and their children: Bethany Keller (Jermie), Timothy Mattke (Kristi), and Trisha Dodge (Andrew). He was affectionately known as “Grampy” to his beloved grandchildren: Madelyn, Brady, Hadley, Locklyn, Thatcher, and Sydney. He spent time attending as many of their activities as possible. He is survived by many other family and friends.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Roland and Edith Mattke; cherished Aunt Lu and Uncle Al Crouch; his mother-and father-in-law, Ralph and Betty Pieters; and his grandson, Eros Mattke.
