In Loving Memory of Robert D. Mazzone April 11, 1935 – June 1, 2025
Robert D. Mazzone, the beloved husband of his wife Janet for 61 years, loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully at home June 1, 2025, surrounded by family. He was 90 years old.
Born on April 11, 1935, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Robert was the youngest son of Salvatore and Carmella (Rossetti) Mazzone. He attended Lincoln High School and went on to serve in the United States Air Force on September 1, 1956 to February 1, 1962.
Robert dedicated over 40 years to running his family-owned restoration company, Miraco Contracting, until he was 84 years old. He had a love for drawing, painting, and enjoyed using Photoshop to create digital art. He took great pride in his Italian heritage, often sharing stories, traditions and meals that kept his cultural roots alive for generations to come. Robert shared a playful love of gambling with his beloved wife and always had amazing luck on the slot machines.
One of Robert's favorite places was his cottage on Lake Christine in Saxville, where he spent countless summers relaxing by the lake, enjoying the simple pleasures of nature, and making lasting memories with his family. He treasured every moment spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought endless laughter into his life. His face lit up in their presence, and he was never happier than when he was surrounded by their energy and love.
Robert regularly gave to charities and believed deeply in helping those less fortunate. He sponsored three children through Save The Children to help provide food, shelter and education. He was a frequent donator to St. Jude Children's research hospital.
Robert will be remembered for his warmth, his quiet strength, and the love he gave so freely to those around him.
He is survived by his wife Janet Mazzone (Chuppa), their children and their families: John Mazzone and his children, Deborah, David, and Joseph; Donald Mazzone; Carmella Mazzone (Burke) and her children, Talia (Victor) and Lauren; Kevin (Leilani) Mazzone and their children Amanda, Joshur, Michelle, Nathan, and Olivia; Thomas (Amy) Mazzone and their child Kaitlin. He also leaves behind his beloved great grandchildren: Brady, Mila, Tommy, Andre, Cameron, Sophia, Adalynn, Ava, Gavin, Noah, and Roman who will carry his memory in their hearts forever.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Salvatore and Carmella (Rossetti) Mazzone; His siblings Viola (Raymond) McKnight, Charles (Joyce) Mazzone; His Daughter in-law Laura Mazzone; His grandchild Gabriel Mazzone.
A celebration of Robert's life will be held on Saturday, June 14th at ST. MARGARET MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH located at 3970 N. 92nd Street Milwaukee, WI 53222. Visitation will be held at 9:30 AM followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 AM. He will be laid to rest at Highland Memorial Cemetery with immediate family only. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Robert's memory by donating to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
