ROBERT DEAN McARTHUR
Robert D. McArthur, 91, of Cass City, died Tuesday, September 9, 2025 in Country Comfort, Cass City. He was born June 22, 1934 in Cass City to Stanley and Pauline (Squires) McArthur. He married Joyce DeEtte Helwig on April 20, 1957 in First Baptist Church of Cass City.
Bob graduated from Cass City High School in 1953 and served in the United States Army. He was employed by Mac & Leo Service, IGA stores, was a part time janitor, and drove bus for Cass City Schools. Bob also worked for Bauer Candy Company, Schiller Candy in Bay City and Saginaw, Trend Vendors, General Cable, and All-Star Services from which he retired. Bob also worked part time for Little’s Ambulance, Cass City Ambulance Service, Kranz Funeral Home, Elkland Fire Department, and as a substitute crossing guard. He enjoyed camping, working on jigsaw puzzles, and watching the Detroit Tigers on television. Bob was a faithful member, and served as a deacon, of First Baptist Church of Cass City.
Bob is survived by his wife of sixty-eight years, Joyce; children: Kathleen (Wayne) Wood, Douglas (Brenda) McArthur, David (Angela) McArthur; grandchildren: Benjamin (Amanda) Adams, Andrew (Amber) Adams, Joseph (Nicole) Daneault, Anthony McArthur, Stacey (Andrew Hartman) McArthur, Kevin McArthur, Cody McArthur, Hailey McArthur, Alana McArthur, Maureen (Matt) Wood, Alex Wood; great grandchildren: Riley Adams, Piper Adams, Aubrey Adams, Logan Adams, Dakota Adams, Lyndsay Adams, Hunter Adams, Makai Daneault, Reagan Liebeskind, Payten Liebeskind, Blaine Hartman, Briggs Atkins, Quinn Atkins. He is preceded in death by his parents; infant sister, Margaret Jean McArthur; grandson, Philip Adams.
Funeral service held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 13, 2025 in First Baptist Church of Cass City with Pastor Christian Wright officiating. Military honors conducted by Cass City V.F.W. Post #3644 and the United States Army Honor Guard. Interment will be in Elkland Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Cass City.
