My favorite story to tell about my dad is about a time when we were in the checkout line at the supermarket and my dad loudly, and unwarranted, said, “No, Tristin, you can’t have any of that lady’s Teddy Grahams.” Not a second later, the woman in front of us said, “Oh does he want some?” She opened the box and poured a handful into my hand. He thought it was the funniest thing ever, and I couldn’t have been more embarrassed. Coincidentally, I think that may have been one of his most favorite stories to tell about me, too. If that story tells you anything about him, it’s that he was always trying to make people laugh. He made friends wherever he went and lived a life wanting to see the best in everyone around him. The best stories anyone has of him will have you laughing in the end. He will be missed dearly, but his smile and sense of humor will live on with everyone he met.
Robert McCarthy was born on October 8,1966 to Dale McCarthy and Kayleen McCarthy. Robert passed away on September 3, 2023 at the age of 56, and is survived by his only son, Tristin.
