Leslie Jay Stratton, lovingly known as "Les," was born on May 8, 1949, in Murray, Utah. He journeyed through life, leaving behind a legacy of love, craftsmanship, and laughter, until he peacefully passed away, surrounded by his family, on January 30, 2026, in Clearfield, Utah.

A proud veteran of the United States Air Force, Les served with distinction, completing a pivotal posting in Thailand. His dedication and commitment to his country were reflective of his character—always ready to lend a hand to those around him. After 45 years of hard work, he retired from his renowned business, Stratton Tile Company, where he cultivated a reputation not only for his talent but also for his unwavering support of friends and neighbors. Many will remember him for the way he would spend nights brainstorming solutions for home improvement projects, embodying a spirit that was both inventive and helpful.

Les was more than just a talented craftsman; he was a truly compassionate individual. His sharp wit, humorous stories, and silly antics brought joy to all who had the pleasure of spending time in his company. A tender heart, he poured love into every facet of his life, nurturing not just the plants in his greenhouse where papayas flourished but also the relationships that defined him. His family, which remained his utmost pride and joy, became his sanctuary—his source of security and love.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Ponjai Toi Hysell, and his treasured children: sons Jay Stratton and Jarren Stratton, as well as daughters Janeen Stratton and Jeannie Hall. His legacy continues with 13 cherished grandchildren and seven adoring great-grandchildren, each carrying a piece of his heart. He is also remembered by his brother Kenneth Stratton and sisters Nancy Hulinsky and Susan Bullock, who will carry forward the stories and warmth of their brother.

Les's passing leaves a profound void, as he was predeceased by his parents, James and Eliza Stratton, and his aunt and uncle who raised him, Owen and Artell Stratton Draper. He was also preceded in death by siblings Joyce Challis, James Reed Stratton, Stanley Raymond Stratton, and baby sister Margery Stratton, as well as brother Larry Dale Stratton.

Les leaves behind a legacy filled with heartfelt memories, a keen eye for beauty, a readiness to help, and an infectious laughter that will echo in the hearts of those who loved him. In celebrating his life, we remember a man who built much more than structures; he built a community, fostered relationships, and crafted a family filled with love that will endure. His spirit will continue to inspire all who knew him, reminding us of the treasures found in kindness, laughter, and love.
